Certified athletic trainers serve our Badin community by offering injury prevention, injury evaluation, therapeutic rehabilitation, and emergency medicine to our student athletes.  Athletic trainers collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other medical professionals to provide the best care to our student athletes.   

Stop in to see Max after school if you have any aches/pains, if you have had a recent injury, or if you just want a high five.  

Badin High School is partnered with TriHealth Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and Beacon Orthopedics and Sports medicine to provide coverage for most home games.

Bryan P. McCullough, D.O., is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. McCullough specializes in a variety of orthopedic conditions. He performs multiple procedures including ACL reconstruction, minimally invasive shoulder and knee surgery, joint replacement and fracture care. Dr. McCullough is the orthopedic sports medicine director for 3 of our area high schools: Talawanda, Ross, and Badin. Dr. McCullough currently sees patients at the Oxford, Fairfield, and Beacon West locations.

 

 

Dr. McCullough graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Miami University. He was a four year letter-winner for the Redhawks football team and was an Academic All-American finalist his senior year. After graduation, he earned his degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgical residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He excelled as a resident and earned the top score in the country on his written orthopedic board exam.

 

 

Dr. McCullough then completed an additional year of fellowship training in sports medicine at the Taos Orthopedic Institute in New Mexico. While in Taos, Dr. McCullough learned and performed many state-of-the-art procedures including minimally invasive knee and shoulder surgery as well as ACL reconstruction.

Dr. McCullough views all of his patients as athletes. Whether they are trying to get back to their 20 min daily walks, their silver sneakers classes, or back on the field, Dr. McCullough is passionate about getting his patients back to doing what they love.

Dr. McCullough and his wife, Tara (also a Miami alum who played varsity volleyball), are raising their 3 children and enjoying living and working in the local area. Dr. McCullough enjoys participating in endurance events and has completed many marathons and triathlons including an Ironman.”

Dr. Todd Grime, MD

Beacon Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

Todd E. Grime, M.D. is a board-certified sports medicine physician at Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine who specializes in primary care sports medicine. After completing medical school at the Medical College of Ohio and his residency at Barberton Citizens Hospital, he went on to complete a fellowship for Primary Care Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky. He now has over 20 years of experience in nonsurgical treatments and athletic injury prevention.

 

 

Dr. Grime has an extensive background in serving as team physician for professional indoor lacrosse, college, and high school level sports as well as serving on the medical staff for NHL games. Notable teams that he served as the team physician for includes USA Boxing from 2015-2018, the University of Kentucky and the Cincinnati Reds. Dr. Grime has become very familiar with covering ski related injuries as he has over 11 years’ experience doing so. He has also worked with competitive dance and cheer teams, and at tae kwon do events.

 

 

Dr. Grime also has notable accomplishments in research and publications. Since 2001, he has published or presented over 14 research findings. His publications range from amino acid supplements, to common issues he sees in sports medicine, and why ACL injuries occur in female athletes.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons outside of work. He also enjoys biking, hiking, cooking, and community involvement.”

Scheduling an Appointment

Being seen by our athletic trainer is completely free!  Max is available to see our student athletes most days right after school.  Max can evaluate and treat most minor injuries, but will refer to a physician when appropriate.  When you have an injury, see Max first and to come up with a plan for treatment and return to play.
