Badin Rams Shine at GCL Co-Ed League Track & Field Championships

The Badin Rams delivered an impressive performance at the GCL Co-Ed League Track & Field Championships, highlighted by multiple relay championships, individual podium finishes, and strong performances across both the girls and boys teams.

The Badin girls were led by dominant sprint relay performances as the Rams captured league titles in both the 4×100-meter relay and the 4×200-meter relay. The 4×100 relay team crossed the line in 49.83 seconds to earn first place, while the 4×200 relay team also secured a championship finish with a winning time of 1:45.39.

Individually, Tina Becker had a standout meet for the Rams. Becker placed third in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 12.79 and added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash finals at 26.36. Catherine Hoeting also reached the finals in the 100-meter dash and finished fifth in 12.93.

Elizabeth Hoeting continued Badin’s success in the sprints, earning a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.59. Hoeting also scored points in the field events with a fourth-place finish in the long jump at 15-8.25.

In the hurdles, Tilly Westrich earned a podium finish by placing third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.29. Westrich also added a fifth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles. Emmie Stamp contributed valuable points in both hurdle events as well.

Grace Klopfstein added another top-three finish for the Rams by clearing 5-0 in the high jump to place third overall.

The Badin girls also received contributions from across the roster, including Adriana Jackson winning the second heat of the 200-meter dash finals, Tabitha Buschelmann placing second in the second heat of the 400-meter dash, and solid distance performances from Madi Zoz, Addison Yates, Madison Bruce, and Leah Welte.

On the boys side, the Rams also enjoyed championship success. The Badin boys captured the 4×100-meter relay title with a winning time of 44.54.

Preston Davenport led the Rams in the sprints with a first-place finish in the second heat of the 100-meter dash finals, clocking an 11.75. Max Snellgrove turned in one of the top overall performances of the meet for Badin, winning his preliminary heat of the 400-meter dash in 49.42 before placing fourth in the finals. Snellgrove also earned a second-place finish in his preliminary heat of the 200-meter dash.

In the field events, Mario Wisdom placed second in the long jump with a leap of 16-4, while Mason Thomas had an outstanding day in the throwing events. Thomas earned runner-up honors in the shot put with a throw of 42-5 and added a fourth-place finish in the discus at 118-4.

Ben Sakach added points for the Rams in the 300-meter hurdles with a sixth-place finish, while the boys relay teams also competed well in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays.

Overall, the GCL Co-Ed League Championships showcased the depth and talent of the Badin track and field program. With relay championships, multiple podium finishes, and strong performances throughout the lineup, the Rams continue to build momentum heading into the postseason.

Next up for the Runnin’ Rams is Districts. The girls (D3) will be at Graham HS on Tuesday, May 19th. The bosy (D2) will be at Bellbrook on Wednesday, May 20th.
