
Badin Swimming Shows Strength in Individual Events
The Badin Rams put together a series of standout individual and relay performances Tuesday night, despite falling to Fairfield in the team score, 94–54. The meet showcased strong early-season form from both veteran leaders and emerging contributors on the roster.
Girls Highlights
Badin was led by junior Caroline Hengehold, who turned in a dominant win in the 200-yard freestyle, touching in 2:26.30 for first place. She followed it up with a strong second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:19.50, keeping the Rams competitive across multiple events.
Sophomore Elle Minges also delivered a big night, capturing first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:21.45, and adding a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:34.31. Senior Sarah Schuster contributed valuable points with a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (1:22.82).
The girls’ relays were a bright spot for the team. The quartet of Minges, Hengehold, Schuster, and Lily Tisclerpowered to a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, and the same group secured a strong second place in the 200-yard medley relay, keeping the Rams firmly in the mix.
Boys Highlights
Badin’s boys also saw several commanding individual swims. Connor Hartford swept his events, taking first in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.47) and the grueling 500-yard freestyle (6:13.86). His endurance and pace control helped Badin gain momentum throughout the meet.
Connor Wood added two more victories to the Rams’ tally with a pair of sprint-event wins—first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.72) and then in the 50-yard freestyle (25.95), displaying both power and precision.
Rounding out the boys’ success was Junior Newberry Jr., who claimed first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:12.73) and earned second in the 50-yard freestyle (27.00), showing versatility across stroke and distance.
