Rams XC Takes on Challenging Course at Mason Invitational

It was a cool, overcast day—ideal conditions for racing—as the Badin Rams Cross Country team traveled to the Mason Invitational this past weekend. Known for its scenic but challenging course, including a mid-race hill and an exciting finish around the field, the meet offered a great opportunity for runners to push themselves and gain experience.

Girls Varsity Finishes 15th in Competitive Field

Despite missing a few key runners this week, the Badin girls varsity team turned in a strong performance, placing 15th out of 24 teams in the small school division.

Leading the way was sophomore Tilly Westrich, who ran a personal record of 21:10.6, earning 16th place overall. Tilly’s impressive effort set the tone for the team, with junior Sophia Kollstedt (23:35.2), freshman Tabby Buschelmann (24:53), junior Clare Giffen (25:06), and junior Maddy Anthony (26:45.5) rounding out the top five scorers for the Rams.

Young Boys Team Gains Valuable Experience

The boys squad, also missing a couple of runners, finished 23rd out of 26 teams, but showed promise—especially among the underclassmen.

Freshman Levi Couch led the way with a solid time of 19:23.7, followed by fellow freshman Junior Newberry(21:10.1), sophomore Eli Grammel (21:20.7), freshman James Otto (23:19.4), and freshman Lincoln Emmons, who clocked a personal record of 23:54.3.

With such a young lineup, the future looks bright for the Rams. As they gain more experience and continue to grow, expectations are high for stronger finishes in the weeks ahead.

Looking Ahead: Eaton Invitational
