Now Hiring: Badin Athletics Intern for 2025-26 School Year

Article by BNN Junior Maddie Stephens

Friday, May 9th is the last day for Badin high school’s college intern for media and communications, Jane Keleghan. Throughout this school year, Jane has assisted the Badin News Network class throughout projects and assignments, and has, overall, provided an extreme amount of help. We reached out to her to get more of an insight into what she does, what she plans to do, and her experience overall while at Badin:

“I graduate next weekend with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications with minors in digital marketing and sport management from Miami University. I grew up in Connecticut and went to high school in California. I started interning here in August and it has truly been such an incredible experience, I have grown and learned so much not only about working in the field of sports but also about myself as an individual as well as what I want in a community/job environment in the future. Going to Miami was one of the greatest decisions of my life because it introduced me to a whole new part of the country and a whole new group of people, coming to Badin only expanded on that. The community here is special, I went to a high school where my graduating class was 680 kids so the care that everyone has for each other here is so amazing. Overall day to day I help in the athletic office with graphics, game confirmations, random organizational tasks, and really just whatever pops up that day. In the future I plan to move home for the summer and then hopefully move to Chicago or Austin to work in Sport Marketing and PR for a while and eventually down the line become a high school athletic director focusing on injury prevention and high school student athlete mental health.”

Badin gives a special thanks to Jane– without her, our media, news, etc. would not be what it is today. She is a huge part of not only our school, but our hearts and community as well. We will absolutely miss her, but we wish her the best of luck as she ends this current chapter of her life and moves into a new chapter after she graduates. Thank you so much for all of your contributions, Jane!

With Jane’s departure, Badin has the open opportunity for a college student to intern during next school year. As the Badin News Network experiences growth throughout their hard work efforts, we need all the more help we can get as we expand our horizons by taking on new projects that stretch over multiple months at a time. This is a paid position. A student intern will take on tasks such as creating graphics, small videos for media (something that could have a voice recording put over it, for example), organizational tasks, assisting in gameday setup a tear down, assist in streaming athletic events,  and really whatever comes up on a day-to-day basis. A student intern will also have the ability to interact with students around campus, specifically the students in the BNN class, which brings all sorts of moments to the table. This internship is a great opportunity to expand and hone in on skills, and provides a welcoming environment to work in.

Qualified candidate has experience in modern multimedia/social media, marketing, streaming/broadcasting, interest in high school athletics, or a mixture.

All interested applicants should email a cover letter and resume to Nick Browning and Geoff Melzer
