As for the rest of the Rams…

Badin Rams Swim Team Shines at Sectionals, Looking Ahead to Districts

The Badin Rams Swim Team has shown incredible determination and athleticism at the Sectional meet, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams delivering outstanding performances and qualifying all three relays for the upcoming district competition. Personal bests were shattered across the board, and the Rams are now setting their sights on even greater achievements at the District Meet on Friday, February 14th.

Boys’ Sectional Performance:

The boys’ team has certainly made a splash at Sectionals, highlighted by personal record times across many events. The Rams have advanced all three of their relays to the district meet, with standout performances that demonstrate the team’s depth and talent. As they look forward to the District Meet, one athlete to watch is Auggy Newberry. Newberry has made significant strides this season, but at Districts, he’ll be swimming not fully rested—yet that isn’t slowing him down. His ultimate goal is to make a splash at the state competition, where he’ll be fully rested, suited up, and shaved for the first time in his high school tournament career. With the chance to compete at peak performance levels, Newberry is a name to watch closely as he aims for a spot on the podium at the state meet.

Girls’ Sectional Performance:

The girls’ team also had an incredible showing at Sectionals, with numerous personal bests and every relay qualifying for the District Meet. This feat speaks volumes about the hard work, dedication, and skill on display across the team. One standout swimmer to keep an eye on is Kathleen Burke. A four-time qualifier for the state meet, Burke is hoping to make it a fifth appearance, as she looks to advance to the state competition for the 4th time in her high school career. Fully rested and ready to go, Burke’s performance at the District Meet will be one of the most anticipated moments of the competition.

Looking Ahead:

The Rams are heading into the District Meet with momentum, and both the boys’ and girls’ teams are poised for strong showings. With all relays advancing and key athletes like Newberry and Burke rising to the challenge, the Rams have set themselves up for a thrilling finish to the season. The District Meet promises to be an exciting showcase of talent and determination, and fans can look forward to watching Badin’s finest swim their way toward the state tournament.

Stay tuned as the Badin Rams continue to make waves on their journey toward state glory!
