Taylor Zoz played Pipestone in the D1 Districts. Taylor shot a 44 on the front and came back with a 39 on the back. She finished tied for 20th out of a field of 72 players. Notably she beat every player on Ursuline, Lakota East, Tippecanoe, and St. Ursula ( who finished third in the Sectionals at Walden Ponds). Taylor beat the Oak Hills medalist from the Sectionals at Walden Ponds. She also beat 4 of the 5 players from Kings, Centerville and Beavercreek. D2 played at Pipestone from the same tees a week before and Taylor’s score would have put her in 6th overall. She bested all but one of the Fenwick players.
Girls Varsity Golf finished with a record of 10-4. Two opponents failed to show and four matches were canceled due to the extreme heat. 10 times the team shot a nine hole team score under 180. Prior to that, Badin Girls had only done this once each in the last two years and not in the prior ten. The team’s lowest score in a match was 165.
Badin had its highest historical GCL Conference Championship finish of second with its lowest team score in history for the tournament. Badin played at the D1 level for the first time and came within three strokes of qualifying for Districts.
